International Yoga Day
On December 11 - 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 21 june as the International Yoga Day
Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi said that: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition .
It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and
fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to
health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the
sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature".
“175 nations out of 195 member nations of the U.N. , including USA, Canada and China,Japan,India etc.. are participated.
UN secretary general said, “The annual commemorations of this new
International Day will serve to promote other United Nations goals and
initiatives. Yoga can contribute to resilience against non-communicable
diseases.
Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice in india, benifits from yoga are Being a life changing process, reduces stress, gets body relaxed,
purifies mind, maintains health, reduces depression, increases
metabolism, improves concentration power.
